About Us

Background to Tobutt Sports

Hi and welcome to our family business! My name is Dougie Tobutt and I have been involved in the business since I was fifteen years old. I have always had a passion for sport having played football, cricket, basketball, squash and completing 123 marathons in 50 different countries.

I took over the running of the shop in 1988. We opened our clinic, The Good Health Centre in 2008, so my daughter has taken over the reins of the shop now and I deal with the injuries. She has a dedicated team who are guaranteed to give you a warm welcome.

History of the shop – celebrating 100 years

Dougie Tobutt, 72, the third in his family to run Tobutt Sports on Blackburn Road, welcomed crowds to mark a century of the popular business.

Raising a glass to ‘the next 100 years’, he said: “It has been a rollercoaster, we have had highs, lows and a pandemic but we’re still going.
